Additional COVID Measures for Worship
Last week, the session decided to implement stricter measures in corporate worship to slow the spread of COVID. Our attendance capacity is currently limited to 150 per service. Including overflow rooms, this number is roughly 10% of our total space capacity, providing more than enough room to spread out attendance beyond the recommended social distance. Additionally, we are requiring masks to be worn throughout the entirety of the service and are not permitting congregating in the parking lot before or after. These restrictions will be in place through the December 13 worship service, and may continue past December 13 if health experts believe it is prudent.
What are you thankful for?
We would love to hear stories celebrating how the Lord has blessed you and those around you this year, even in the midst of a very tough year. These stories, which can include names or be submitted anonymously, will be shared throughout the month of December on our church social media pages as a way of praising God for His faithfulness. Please click the button below to fill out our "Celebration Form" and thank you in advance!
🚧 Please excuse our mess! 🚧
We have an exciting announcement to make about some changes coming soon to the office space and Narthex. During a time when it can be difficult to find the silver lining, we have one that we would like to communicate.
With the ministries of TCPC continuing to grow, we are making some layout changes to our office area and Lower Level. This includes:
Relocating the Campus Outreach office to TCPC
Updating the office area upstairs to accommodate our growing team
A new Welcome Center in the Narthex.
All of these changes will better serve the ministry and members of TCPC. We are thankful for the Lord providing the resources for this project, and also for the providence in being able to take advantage of reduced ministry activity during this time due to COVID.
The project will begin Monday, November 30, 2020. This will not impact our Sunday morning services. In the meantime, the front office will be relocated to the Parlor.
Looking Ahead to December
We are excited to share our Advent theme and December plans with you! Read below to learn more:
Theme: The Long Expected Jesus
From Robert: The pandemic is spreading, the country is raging, and 2020, it seems, is never ending...Merry Christmas! Without a doubt, this Advent will be unlike any other, but perhaps it might be the truest of them all. Advent is the season of Christian longing. We reenact the anticipation of Christ's first coming, and in this way, train ourselves how to properly long for Christ's second coming. First, the advent fast, then the Christmas feast.
But this is difficult for Americans who struggle to wait past Thanksgiving before the Christmas celebration begins. But this year will be different. This year the parties and parades are canceled, leaving us longing for Christmas as it should be, which is actually advent as it should be. Our advent theme is going to embrace that longing. We will, of course, celebrate the first advent of Jesus, but more so we are going to yearn for what is to come, the return of our long expected Jesus.
December 6: Long Expected Retribution
December 13: Long Expected Redemption
December 20: Long Expected Reconciliation
Weekly Rhythm
Despite the cancellation of important church ministries, we still wanted to provide opportunities for learning, prayer, and life applications, so we've created a weekly rhythm of videos that we will be sharing throughout the month of December:
Advent Prayer Guide
We are currently putting together an Advent Prayer Guide for you to follow along with each day. This will also be the material that Mark will use in his Wednesday prayer times. We will send this prayer guide out this weekend, be on the lookout for an email from the TCPC Office!
Volunteers Needed for Worship AV
As our need for different means of worship have grown, so too has our need for volunteers grown to help make these live-streams happen. We would love for anyone who is interested in serving the church to email Stephen Lynerd about joining our AV Volunteer rotation. No experience needed! We are happy to train anyone who is eager to learn. You can email Stephen at slynerd@tcpca.org.
