TCPC News for September 30

This Week During Worship...

  • 9:00: Philip Blackwell Membership Vows

  • 11:00: Baptism of Austin Curtis Willard, Jr., son of Austin & Becky Willard

The 1:00 Service Has Been Cancelled

In light of the additional seating we will have this Sunday (see below for more details), we are not having a 1:00 PM service. We will only have a 9:00 AM service and an 11:00 AM service.

Expanded Capacity for Worship

This Sunday will be our first time using the Fellowship Hall and Lower Level spaces  to allow for more people to attend each service. Each space will have a direct feed of HD video and sound from the Sanctuary.

Here are more details about these additional spaces:

  • SANCTUARY: The first space where people will be seated. All are welcome in this space.

  • FELLOWSHIP HALL: Overflow seating once the Sanctuary is full. All are welcome in this space.

  • LOWER LEVEL: This space is designated for families with young children, but all are welcome in this space. Families may choose to come directly here, even if other spaces haven’t filled yet.

As we seek the glory of Christ and the good of the Bluegrass, we believe God is calling us to take seriously the issue of racial justice in our community. In light of this, we have created applications that we’d like everyone to consider: one step for your head, heart, and hands.

Sunday School Pods Start September 20

This month, we started a new way of doing Sunday School called “Sunday School Pods," which are inter-generational educational opportunities for everyone in our church. These small groups (small enough to practice social distancing in classrooms across the building) meet each Sunday from 10:10-10:50, and the theme for this Fall is “Stories from Genesis.”

5th Graders and younger may attend a Children’s Sunday School class for their age if the parent chooses (more info below), but please know that they are welcome in these Pods, which are being designed for all ages.

Sign up today at tcpca.org/pods or email Mark Randle with any questions at mrandle@tcpca.org.

Children's Sunday School Starts This Sunday

PLEASE NOTE: this announcement is only for parents who are attending Sunday School Pods.

Children's Sunday School also started this past month, and there are three classes being offered:

  • Preschool, PreK, and Kindergarten

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades

  • 4th & 5th grades

We are strictly limited to only 15 children per class. If you would like for your child(ren) to attend a Children's Sunday School class instead of attending a pod with you, you must RSVP (link below). Children will be screened (temperature check) before entry to the Sunday School rooms, and will remain socially-distanced while in their classroom. Parents must drop off and pick children up from classes, regardless of their age. Contact childsundayschool@tcpca.org with any questions

Foundations Weekend - October 16-17

Registration is now open for our next membership class on October 16-17. The sessions will be Friday night and Saturday morning, and breakfast and dinner are provided. We invite anyone who is interested in pursuing membership and learning more about our church history and theology. To sign up, go to tcpca.org/foundations. Please email Nate Jones with any questions at njones@tcpca.org.
