TCPC Happenings - August 2016

STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN

We are halfway through our Foundations Of A Movement stewardship campaign, and the next two Sundays we will be revisiting this exciting vision for our congregation. We are hosting two very important combined Sunday School classes. This Sunday (8-14) Mark Randle will give us a full update on our campaign, both where we stand with contributions and the amazing ways God has used these contributions. The following Sunday (8-21) Robert Cunningham will give us an update on what to expect going forward, including exciting improvements for this upcoming year. These next two Sundays are very important for the life of our congregation, and we encourage everyone who calls TCPC home to make every effort to be there!

FAMILIES

There is a lot to be excited about for young families of TCPC! Children and youth Sunday School starts back this Sunday. Also taking place this Sunday is an all parish back to school party from 6:00-8:30. We will have inflatables and snow cones for the kids, fried chicken and drinks for everyone, and last names A-N are asked to bring a side dish and O-Z are asked to bring a dessert. Youth Group (6-12 grade) kickoff is Wednesday, August 17 from 7:00-9:00. Finally, in one month we will be able to move into our newly constructed nursery!!!

Our nursery director (Kristen Frauenhoffer), children’s director (Jennifer Matocha), and youth director (Mac Holt) are working together toward a unified vision of discipling the next generation. A lot of planning and prayer have gone into this upcoming year, and there has never been a better time to integrate your children into the church.

WOMEN

The women’s fall kickoff “chocolate social” will be held August 21at 6:30 in the fellowship hall. This is the best way to meet other ladies in our church and hear all about ministry offerings for this upcoming year.

CHOIR

This is the perfect time to get involved with our fantastic choir ministry. Rehearsals are Wednesday’s from 6:30-7:45, with childcare provided. The first rehearsal of the fall will be on August 24, but there will also be a fun and informative choir kickoff party on August 31. If you have ever thought of joining the choir, come out and give it a try! Email Chelsea Steyn to RSVP for the kickoff party or with any questions you may have chelsea.d.steyn@gmail.com

NEWCOMERS AND ANY NON-MEMBERS

Whether you are considering joining TCPC or you just want to know more about us, the most important step is to attend our Foundations Weekend. These are held on a Friday night from 6:30-9:00 and Saturday morning from 8:30-noon. These events are both fun and informative, and Robert Cunningham teaches on the basics of our faith and distinctives. Childcare and meals are provided. The fall Foundations Weekend will be held on August 19 and 20, and any non-member is welcome to attend. REGISTER HERE before registration closes on Wednesday the 17.

Also to all newcomers and regular attenders who have yet to be fully integrated into our fellowship, here is a helpful video to explain our simple process of assimilation:
