We are seeing God transform the Bluegrass through the people of our church and the churches we have planted.
Hope Presbyterian Church
Over the past five years, Tates Creek Presbyterian Church has seen incredible growth in membership and attendance, despite “giving away” a group of members to a brand new church plant. This church, Hope Presbyterian Church, continues to expand its impact upon the neighborhoods in and around downtown Lexington.
From a leadership development standpoint, we are more than ready to launch our next church plant to Richmond. Two graduates of our Pastor’s College program, Josh Crawford and Travis Stephens (pictured below), have been selected to lead this church, and a number of TCPC members have committed to be part of the launch team. Three additional graduates of our Pastor’s College program are also being trained and prepared for future launches.
We praise the Lord for His provisions across the past several years, because He provided capable leaders to fill important leadership positions. We hired Stephen Lynerd as our Director of Music; Peter Hansen was chosen as the new Head of School for Trinity Christian Academy (both pictured below). And though we are sad about the retirement of our long-time assistant Ruth Binkowski, we celebrate her many years of service and the example she has set for the new, larger administrative team at TCPC.
Our budget and staffing need to catch up with our capacity to launch leaders.
However, if we hope to launch more churches and develop more leaders, our team needs to grow. The global pandemic has forced us to reassess and expand our online presence, and that means hiring digital communication specialists. More ministries are under our umbrella than ever before, and that means hiring more administrators. We are supporting more local and global non-profits and missionaries than ever, and that means additional funding to support God’s mission abroad.
THE NEXT STEP

Our budget has grown steadily over the past 5 years, and we praise the Lord for His faithfulness with providing the funding needed to see our vision in action. However, we long to see more done in the Bluegrass and across the globe. The proposed budget for 2020-21 brings us closer to this larger vision. At $2,700,000, it moves us closer to being fully-staffed and empowers our current ministries (Men’s, Women’s, Youth, College, Seniors, etc.) to keep growing at the same clip. This budget increase is a key part of the next step towards launching a new church. We also want to keep our eyes on the global impact of our church, and this budget enhances our ministry partnerships around the world.
THE NEXT LAUNCH…AND MORE

The next church plant to Richmond is a key part of our short-term strategy, but our vision doesn’t end there. We want to see churches planted all over the Bluegrass, leaders launched into life-long ministry, and lay people who are passionate about bringing Jesus to their neighborhood and to the ends of the Earth.
The Bluegrass Network is the name we are giving to this over-arching vision. It is a network of like-minded churches who are pooling their people and resources to see more churches planted and more leaders developed. This strategy will enable us to meet the specific needs of each community, and to raise up diverse leaders who can lead teams in the endeavor of meeting those needs as the hands and feet of Christ.
Finally, we hope to add a fifth Global Missions Partner to our church: Covenant Church in Khon Kaen, Thailand. Campus Outreach has been partnering with them for over 30 years, and we want to resource their all-Thai leadership to continue sharing the Gospel to one of most unreached people groups in the world.
THE NEED

In order for our vision for the Bluegrass Network, for church-planting, and for the growth of TCPC to come to fruition, additional funding is needed. These are the immediate and short-term needs that we believe will help us make that vision a reality:
$640,000
This amount, in pledges over three years, will fund the TCPC budget in order to maintain current staffing, meet new staffing needs, and sustain continued ministry growth.
$700,000
This amount, in one-time gifts, will go towards the Bluegrass Network, Ethnic Diversity, Missions and Global Partnerships, and renovations to the Narthex & Sanctuary.
