Good of the Bluegrass Conference

This week is the Good of the Bluegrass Conference! Our speaker will be Rev. Russ Whitfield, and he will be speaking on the topic of “Neighbor Love,” looking to the Bible to answer the question, “How do I love the people God has placed in my life who are different than me?” Also, there will be a Valentine’s Day party at Talon Winery for all conference participants (cost included in registration price).

Sign up at, or contact Will Witherington with any questions regarding the conference.

Officer Nominations

We are currently receiving nominations for 10 elders and 12 deacons. We want to encourage every communicant member to take this responsibility very seriously. Prayerfully look over the requirements and responsibilities included in the nomination forms and submit names of any you feel meet those expectations. The office of elder and deacon is a high and holy calling, and your participation in the nomination process is crucial. Nominations must be returned to the box in the narthex by February 24.

Gospel Storytime for Ages 4-Kindergarten

While we encourage children participation in worship, we recognize that the sermon is uniquely challenging for both children and their parents. Therefore, during the preaching we will now offer Gospel Storytime, a supplemental discipleship time for ages 4 - Kindergarten. There will be prayer, singing, and a lesson taught from the Gospel Story Bible. Children will be dismissed to the Narthex Parlor (located next to the restrooms) at the beginning of the sermon, and will return to the sanctuary at the end of the sermon for their communion blessing. Also, we would love to have lots of volunteers for this, so please email Jennifer Matocha if you would like to help.
